THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Inaugurating the sale of tickets for the India vs South Africa T20 match, Suresh Gopi said that everyone should try to protect the Greenfield Stadium in Kariyavattam and use it for the growth of sports. He also said that we should be able to host big sports events like Olympics.

Former MP Panniyan Raveendran said that talented players like Sanju Samson have failed to get their due importance. "The tendency is to ignore despite showing ability and showing results. What should he do next?", Raveendran asked. He also opined that everyone should emulate Sanju's opinion that the country should win.

Meanwhile, the officials of the Kerala Cricket Association said that the controversy related to the power cut in the stadium was not due to their fault. "It is the IFSL company that has to pay the KSEB. KCA pays IFSL for use of ground. Not a single rupee is left to pay. Don't try to scare us by pulling the fuse. The match will be hosted with the use of a generator then", KCA officials said.

Meanwhile, KSEB restored power at Greenfield Stadium last day.
