Raids in offices of Popular Front; 13 leaders in custody, vital documents seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are conducting a nationwide raid at the offices of the Popular Front. The raids are conducted in ten states including Kerala. The raid is related to terror funding and organising training camps.

The raids are conducted at the PFI national and state committee offices and at the houses of the leaders. The raid is taking place in 70 centres of the Popular Front in Kerala. 13 leaders including PFI national chairman OMA Salam have been detained. Salam was taken into custody from his house in Manjeri.

Mobile phones, pamphlets and books were seized in the raid conducted in Thiruvananthapuram. The reports that came in said crucial documents have been seized. Activists are protesting against the raids at various places. More than 100 PFI activists have been detained from 10 states.
