DCC general secretary dies after KSRTC bus hits him in Adoor

ADOOR: DCC general secretary had a tragic death when a KSRTC bus ran over him while he was walking to drop off his sister's daughter to bus for going to school. The deceased has been identified as Anandapally Surendran(56), who was former Councillor in Adoor municipality and former personal staff member of ex-Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

Surendran, who lied on the road bleeding for ten minutes, was taken to hsopital by the the staff and passengers of another KSRTC bus that was passing by. But he could not be saved. The accident took place at the bend in front of SBI Bank near Anandapally Junction yesterday morning.

He was walking to drop off Ajala Suku, a Class 11 student to bus. Surendran grabbed her back when he saw a speeding fast passenger bus. But the bus hit him. Although the girl requested many vehicles passing by to take him to hospital but no one was willing. Lastly, a KSRTC bus took him to general hospital. He was transferred to Kottayam medical collge due to serious head injury but he could not be saved.

The funeral will be held at 2 pm in the premises of his house. Adoor Municipal Vice Chairperson Jyothi Surendran is his wife. Children: Anandu Surendran, Anjali Surendran.
