KOCHI: The KSRTC filed a plea in the Kerala High Court seeking a compensation from those who announced the hartal. KSRTC demanded a compensation of Rs 5 crore 6 lakh. 58 buses were vandalized in the attack following the hartal called by the Popular Front, last Friday. Ten employees were injured. KSRTC filed a plea to join party in the case taken up by the high court.
Meantime, 309 cases have been registered in the state so far in connection with the attacks as part of the hartal observed by the Popular Front. 1404 accused in various attacks were arrested. The police also informed that 834 people are in preventive custody. Most cases were registered in Malappuram. 34 cases were registered in Malappuram. The figures released by the police said 215 people were arrested in Kottayam where 28 cases were registered. 26 cases were registered in Kannur city alone.
