THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Director General of Prosecution TA Shaji, who appeared for the Chief Minister in the Special Vigilance Court, asked how the CM can tell the Governor to appoint the person he likes as University VC. He asked the question during yesterday's argument on the plea that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should be sued under the Prevention of Corruption Act for nepotism and breach of oath for recommending the Governor to re-appoint Dr Gopinath Ravindran as Kannur VC.
Petitioner Congress leader Jyotikumar Chamakkala sought more time to elaborate on corruption and nepotism related to the appointment. Following this, the further argument was postponed to October 22.
