Candidates in PSC list should contact immediately, KSRTC to appoint drivers to avoid disruption of services

TDF (Transport Democratic Federation), one of the recognized organizations, has issued a notice for an indefinite strike from tomorrow against the implementation of single duty in KSRTC. The KSRTC management is all set to face the strike announced by the union at a time when heavy rush is expected during Puja Navratri holidays and festivals.

Following the strike, efforts are made to temporarily appoint drivers to avoid disruption of services. For this, the management has decided to accept applications from those in the driver rank list whose term of PSC expired. They were directed to reach the nearest KSRTC units as early as possible with the documents proving their practical experience. Instructions have already been given to prepare the list for appointment of temporary drivers and conductors.

Those taking up the temporary job will get Rs 715 per duty. The KSRTC management has clarified that these appointments are with the intention of providing travel facilities to the public during the strike period. Those engaged in the strike will not be paid this month's salary on 5th.

KSRTC has made all arrangements to run the service as normal without any inconvenience to passengers in this situation where heavy traffic is expected during navaratri. As part of this, staff and buses have been arranged in all the units of the state. The help of police and district administrations have also been ensured for security and smooth operation.
Lists are drawn up to temporarily appoint 'substitute' drivers and conductors in case of shortage of strike workers and increased traffic demand. For this, the list is being prepared by giving priority to the drivers who are currently in the expired PSC list.
