Jammu and Kashmir Prisons DGP found murdered, domestic help absconding

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Prisons Department DGP Hemant Kumar Lohia was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his friend's residence in Jammu. The dead body was found with the throat slit. Hemant Kumar Lohia was staying with his family at his friend Rajeev Khajuria's house at Udaywala, on the outskirts of Jammu, as his house was being renovated. Burn marks were also found on Lohia's body. DGP's domestic help is absconding. A search has been launched for him.

Lohia, a 1992-batch IPS officer, was appointed as DGP of Prisons in August. The brutal crime took place at the residence. Jammu Zone Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh said that it is suspected to be a murder.
