DEHRADUN: 25 people were killed as a bus carrying a marriage party fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand. The incident happened last evening in Timari village, about 70 km ahead of Dhumakot in Pauri Garhwal of Uttarakhand. Around 50 passengers were in the bus at the time of the accident.

A group of women and children were in the bus. 21 people were rescued in a joint rescue operation by the police and the state disaster management force. They were admitted to nearby hospitals. Uttarakhand Police Chief Ashok Kumar informed that efforts are being made to rescue more people. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also stated that the rescue operation is progressing with the cooperation of the local residents. The chief minister expressed his condolences on the death.
