Population policy should be formulated keeping these two aspects in mind, Mohan Bhagwat clarifies policy

NAGPUR: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat spoke about women's empowerment during his customary Vijayadashami address in Nagpur as the country indulged in Dussehra celebrations. He said that women should be treated with equality and empower them with freedom of taking their own decisions.

Welcoming the chief guest Santhosh Yadav, he said that the Sangh has a tradition of welcoming accomplished women to its events. Mountaineer Santosh Yadav was the chief guest this year. This is the first time in the history of Sangh that a woman is a chief guest at Vijayadashami celebrations in Nagpur.
The annual Vijayadashami lecture organized in Nagpur is very important for the RSS. This is the venue where the RSS leader makes public his stand on important issues. Mohan Bhagwat also spoke about the implementation of population policy in this year's speech.

Resources are needed as the population grows. If the population increases without the need for resources, it becomes a burden and there is a view in which the population is considered an asset. So, keeping these two aspects in mind, we need to work to formulate a population policy for all, he said.

‘Religion based population imbalance is an important issue that should not be ignored. Population imbalances lead to changes in geographic boundaries. Along with differences in birth rates, conversions by force, lure or greed and infiltration are also big reasons.' Mohan Bhagwat clarified the policy. He also said that one should be firm on Sanatana Dharma.
