Vadakancherry accident: Bus owner arrested, ignored alerts despite being warned 19 times

PALAKKAD: Police have arrested Arun, the owner of the tourist bus involved in the Vadakkancherry accident that led to the death of 9 people. Police said that Arun had ignored 19 alert messages regarding the overspeeding of the bus. The police had arrested driver Jomon yesterday in connection with the incident. Jomon has been charged with homicide. Police took Jomon to the scene of the accident today and collected evidence.

Meanwhile, Jomon told the police that the sudden braking by the KSRTC bus caused the accident in Vadakancherry. However, Jomon's claim was completely rejected by the police.
