Despite creating several controversies, the Agniveer Army recruitment rally had much participation from the youth. 13,116 candidates out of 20,000 registered from Kasaragod to Palakkad districts have already participated in the Northern Region Rally held at Kozhikode Physical Education Ground. 705 candidates became eligible for health fitness. 624 were sent for medical review. Major General P Ramesh (Additional Director General of VSM, Recruiting Zone Bengaluru, Kerala, Karnataka, Mahi & Lakshadweep) told the media that the rally had good response from the youth
A written test will be conducted for the selected candidates. After the police verification, the training will start by March 2023. Around 40,000 candidates will be selected across the country. In the state, the southern region recruitment rally will be held in Kollam in the second week of November. Recruitment for Nursing Assistant, Veterinary Nursing Assistant and Religious Studies Teachers will also be held here.
A recruitment rally for women from Kerala, Karnataka, Mahi and Lakshadweep will be held in Bengaluru in the first week of November. About 11,000 women have registered.
As recruitment rallies were not held for two years due to the Covid crisis, the age limit has been relaxed by two years. Recruitment in North Kerala is till October 10.

Protesters out
Kozhikode: Those who protested against the Agniveer project will not be considered for the rally. Even if they get selected after attending the rally, in the police verification their names will be excluded, said Major General P Ramesh. Although it may not affect candidates from Kerala, several protest marches were organized in the state to railway stations and government offices. Such protesters are likely to be excluded from the list.
