KOCHI: The Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court has left the three accused in the human sacrifice case in Elanthoor, to police custody for 12 days. The action is following the demand of the investigating team. They will be in police custody till October 24.

The court order is after considering the arguments of the prosecution including that it is necessary to divulge all the information related to the case, for the society. The prosecution informed the court that Shafi, the first accused in the case, is a notorious criminal and needs to be questioned in detail. Shafi is reluctant to divulge information related to the case. The police informed the court that detailed interrogation with the help of cyber forensic experts is necessary. Taking all this into account, the court granted 12-day custody as demanded by the prosecution.

There were severe arguments between the defence and the prosecution. The prosecution demanded that the arguments of the defence should be completely dismissed. In the meanwhile, the court criticized Aloor, the defence lawyer. Aloor's demand to permit him to see the accused everyday if sent to police custody, provoked the court. Soon the court warned that the lawyer need not impose directions on the court.
