Death threats after calling RSS chief 'father of the nation', MHA grants Y-plus security to Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi

NEW DELHI: All India Imam Organization chief Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, who received death threats after calling Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat the 'Rashtra Pita' (father of the nation), has been given Y Plus category security. Ilyasi had earlier said that he received multiple threatening calls from phone numbers in England and Dubai. Ilyasi told the media that he is thankful to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Central Government for granting him Y Plus category security and he stands by what he said earlier.

The incident took place on September 22. Mohan Bhagwat visited the mosque in Delhi and interacted with the madrasa students. While responding to the media, Ilyasi termed Bhagwat 'Rashtra Pita'. After this incident, Ilyasi received death threat calls and informed the Ministry of Home Affairs about this.
