THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Social activist Daya Bai said she will not withdraw from her strike staged to solve the problems of endosulfan victims. She told this to Ministers Veena George and R Bindu, who visited her in the hospital after holding talks with the striking panel. She directly complained to them on the matter.

Meantime, Health Minister Veena George said the talks were fruitful. She told media that Daya Bai had informed to end the strike. Higher Education Minister R Bindu and Health Minister Veena George held talks with the protesters as per the instructions of the chief minister. They said the government has approved 90 % of her demands. The minister said that more facilities will be arranged in Kasaragod Medical College. The government will ensure medical assistance to endosulfan victims.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan had the other day stated that if the government is not ready to settle the strike, the UDF will take over it. He also said that the issues raised by her could easily be solved by the government.
