jibith-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of one of the two students who went missing in Karamana River has been recovered. The body of ninth class student identified as Jibith (14), son of Jayaraj and Manju of Nettayam, was found. A search for Niranjan (12), son of Aneesha of Vazhottukonam, who went missing along with Jibith, is continuing.

The students were swept away by strong undercurrents at around 4 pm yesterday. The two went for a bath with their friends near Aayiravalli temple in Vattiyoorkavu. Their other friends informed the locals after seeing two of their friends drowning.

Though a search was conducted for more than two hours’ yesterday, it had to be stopped due to lack of light and strong currents. The search resumed this morning. The search is conducted by the police, fire brigade and the scuba team.
