THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are likely in the state for five days, the IMD said. A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the North Andaman Sea tomorrow. It will travel in the north-west direction and reach the north-west Bay of Bengal by October 20 and become a low pressure. Due to its influence, the strength of the rain will increase in the state.

Today, yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. Fishing is not allowed due to strong winds in Kerala coast.
