BENGALURU: Father and relatives killed daughter and boyfriend over love affair. The honor killing has been reported in Bagalkote, Karnataka. 17-year-old Rajeshwari and 25-year-old Dalit youth were murdered.
The girl was in a relationship with Vishwanath, a construction worker, since the age of fourteen. The girl had told her mother that she would marry her boyfriend as soon as she came of age. She informed her husband and relatives about this.
The murders took place on September 30. The girl's relatives called Vishwanath to discuss about their marriage. Then he was hacked to death. Rajeshwari was also strangled. The bodies were thrown into a river.
The girl's father filed a missing complaint with the police to avoid suspicion. Vishwanath's family had also lodged a complaint with the police. The murder was revealed during the investigation that followed.
