LUCKNOW: The family of a 32-year-old man who died of dengue fever in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh has made serious allegations against the hospital. They alleged that fruit juice was transfused into the patient’s body instead of blood. The incident was reported in Global Hospital and Trauma Centre in Prayagraj.
A preliminary enquiry conducted by the district administration based on the complaint filed by the patient’s relatives has revealed medical negligence. Following this, the authorities had sealed the hospital. The youth’s family demanded strict action against the hospital staff.
"One of the packs given by the blood bank in the hospital was filled with a liquid similar to mosambi juice. This was transfused into his body instead of blood. Due to this, his health deteriorated. He was rushed to another hospital but he died. My 26-year-old sister has become a widow. I request Yogi Adityanath government to take strict action against the hospital's negligence,” said Saurabh Tripathi, the youth’s brother-in-law.
Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have given an explanation that the patient's relatives brought the blood from somewhere else. A video of a blood pack allegedly containing mosambi juice has been widely circulated on social media.
