NEW DELHI: Governor, Arif Mohammad Khan, said that the Supreme Court has made it clear who can appoint Vice Chancellors. His warning came after he read yesterday’s Supreme Court order cancelling the appointment of Dr Rajasree MS as VC of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.

The Governor’s warning comes when the future of the five Vice Chancellors hands in the balance after begin appointed by considering only one name, which is a violation of UGC guidelines.

The Supreme Court, yesterday, cancelled the appointment of Dr Rajasree MS as the VC of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The order was cancelled after it was found that the appointment had violated UGC guidelines.

SC’s ruling comes after CUSAT Engineering faculty and former Dean Prof. Srijith PS filed an appeal to the apex court. The division bench comprising Justices, MR Shah and CT Ravikumar had considered the plea.
