Shyamjith appears cool while collecting evidence; had chilli powder in bag along with weapons, did not use it, says accused

KANNUR: The weapons used for the murder of Vishnupriya in Panoor have been recovered. While collecting evidence with the accused Shyamjith, the weapons were found in a bag whihc was dumped in a pond in Manantheri. The pond is near the house of the accused.

The accused executed the crime with proper planning. He told police that he decided to kill Vishnupriya three days ago. A hammer, knife, screw driver, mask worn on the day of the murder, shirt, jeans, gloves, cap, shoes, another deadly weapon to inflict stab wounds and chilli powder were recovered from his bag. Shyamjith told the police that he did not use the chilli powder. After the murder, he came home, bathed, changed his clothes, put all the weapons and clothes in a bag and dumped them in the pool. He then put a stone on top of the bag.

Accused Shyamjith appeared cool while collecting evidence. Shyamjith explained things to the police with no regret in committing the murder. He smiled at the media and walked with the police. He responded to all questions of police officers without any anxiety and fear. He was later taken to his house for collecting evidence.
