From Ayodhya to Kargil, Modi's Diwali celebrations every year since 2014 has been special

Every Diwali since assuming the position as the Prime Minister of the country in 2014, Prime Minister Modi has celebrated the auspicious at a military unit in the country. This time, the Prime Minister's first visit was to Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. In the presence of Prime Minister Modi, the temple city of Ayodhya set a new record when 1.5 lakh lamps were lit on the banks of Sarayu river. After this, Modi's journey was to Kargil.

On October 24, Modi shared Diwali sweets with Indian soldiers in Kargil. Celebrating the country's main festival with brave soldiers is a pattern Modi has followed for years. Let's take a look at Modi's Diwali celebration from 2014.

2014
Modi chose Siachen for the 2014 Diwali celebrations, the same year he took over as the Prime Minister of India. The nation came to know about the Prime Minister's visit to Siachen when he tweeted, 'From the snowy heights of the Siachen Glacier, I wish you all a very happy Diwali with the brave jawans and personnel of the armed forces.'

2015
In 2015, Modi celebrated Diwali in Punjab. He visited three military memorials here. They were the victory memorials of the Indian Army on the occassion of fifty years of the 1965 war.

2016
Prime Minister Modi was in Himachal Pradesh during Diwali 2016. Here he met with the soldiers near the Chinese border.

2017
In 2017, Modi visited North Kashmir's Gurez region. The Prime Minister interacted with Dogra Scouts, Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officials.

2018
In 2018, Prime Minister Modi celebrated Diwali in Harsil, Uttarakhand. Modi's surprise visit came as a surprise to the soldiers. After this, he visited Kedarnath Dham.

2019
In 2019, the PM celebrated Diwali with soldiers in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.

2020
Modi did not deviate from his routine even when the country was reeling under the Covid pandemic. In 2020, he went to the Longewala border crossing to wish the soldiers Happy Diwali.

2021

Modi celebrated Diwali in 2021 at Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir. He said that he is proud to spend Diwali with the brave soldiers here. His words that he came not as Prime Minister but as a member of the soldiers' family inspired the soldiers.
