Priest who threatened Payyanur MLA arrested

KANNUR: A priest who threatened Payyanur MLA T Madhusoodanan has been arrested. Vijesh was arrested while working as a priest in a temple. He was taken into custody from Mundakayyam in Kottayam.

He called the MLA and threatened to kill him. The incident happened on the night of October 5. He called the MLA on his mobile and in the number of the landline of the area committee office.

He threatened to endanger the MLA and to attack the area committee office. Following that, the MLA lodged a complaint with the police. He had made a similar death threat against P Jayarajan in 2018.

The CPM alleged that Vijesh is a BJP activist and they are behind the incident. Meantime, the BJP who denied the allegation said the accused has no connection with the party.
