THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The family alleged that the mysterious death of the youth in Parasala is a murder. The dead is Sharon Raj (23), son of Jayarajan of Parasala Muryangara J P House. His relatives alleged that the youth was murdered by giving acid. The police have started an investigation.

Sharon’s relatives told a private channel that Sharon collapsed after drinking juice offered by his girlfriend. Sharon Raj reached her house on October 14. He passed out after drinking tincture and juice from there. The youth who was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Parasala and medical college for days, died on Tuesday.

His girlfriend called Sharon and told him that her engagement with the military officer was not with her consent. He stayed away from her for a few days after that. He had photos and videos of the two with him. In order to grab that, she established a friendly relationship with him via WhatsApp chat.

She called him on October 14 in the morning. He said his vehicle is in the workshop. She called him again and told him that her parents are going out and invited him home. He went with his friend.

Sharon went inside and his friend waited outside. He came out holding his stomach and was seen vomiting. When asked he said that he had tincture and juice. He had given his statement to the magistrate.

The two chatted later also. He told her that he was exhausted and when asked her the name of the tincture, she replied saying it may have happened in the juice. He had sores in his mouth. It is a murder. Her parents have a role in it, his relatives said.

'There is an element of superstition in it. He was taken and forced to tie the nuptial know and made him apply kumkum on her forehead. She used to apply sindoor every evening and then send him a photo on WhatsApp. She was supposed to get married to the military man in September. It was postponed to February. She had told him that as per the horoscope if she gets married before November, her first husband will die. So, her parents postponed the marriage to February. It has to be suspected that he was taken away and forced to tie the nuptial knot was part of this,’ said his relative.
