The death of Kalabhavan Mani was an irreparable loss to the Malayalam film industry. His untimely death had shocked his fans and the film fraternity. Actor Bala has now shared his experiences with Mani. Bala said that for him, Mani chettan was his good friend with whom he could say anything at any time. Bala also revealed that Mani chettan had foreseen his death.

'I have a short life. I looked my horoscope. When Mani chettan told me that he would not live past 48, I stopped him. Then Mala chettan came to the room. He scolded him when Mani Chettan talked about death. He said the astrologers will say many things and should not think about it,' Bala said.

Kalabhavan Mani died on March 6 in 2016 at 45. He was admitted to the hospital after vomiting blood. Though the police had registered a case for unnatural death, they could not find any further information during investigation.
