ALAPPUZHA: A woman blamed the police for not taking action on the complaint of sexually abusing her five-year-old daughter. The woman lodged a complaint with the Cherthala police against an 86-year-old man for sexually abusing her daughter.

The woman while talking to a media said the aged man showed some nude videos of girls to her and then took her nude pics. She said that he assaulted her after promising sweets. When the woman revealed the incident to her daughter’s teachers, they said the issue is serious and forced her to lodge a complaint with the Muhamma police. However, the police there asked her to lodge the complaint with the Cherthala police as that station is not under her limits.

She later lodged the complaint at the Cherthala Police Station, but a case was not registered. They counselled her and left. The circle inspector asked her whether she knows the consequences if a case is registered and then told her that her minor daughter would be taken to many places.
