Youth goes missing while bathing in river; diver who came to rescue dies during search

PALAKKAD: A youth went missing while taking a bath in the river. A diver who came to the rescue died after feeling ill. Both tragedies took place in Bharatapuzha on Wednesday evening.

Cheruthuruthi native Faisal, who came to take a bath in the river, went missing after drowning. Shoranur Nambanthodi native Ramakrishnan (62), a diver who came to the rescue, searched for ten minutes. He then came ashore after feeling ill. Although he was immediately rushed to a private hospital at Cheruthuruthi, he could not be saved.

Ramakrishnan was the one who used to help the police in finding those who go missing in the river. A former municipal councillor, he used to conduct swimming training for children.
