Bypolls in six states: BJP wins four out of seven seats

election

NEW DELHI: In a show of strength, BJP won four out of seven seats in the bypolls held in six states. The party won Gokarnnath in Uttar Pradesh, Adampur in Haryana, Gopalganj in Bihar and Dhamnagar in Odisha.

The Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won in Bihar's Mokama. In Telangana's Munugode, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won with a majority of over 10,000 votes against BJP.

Shiv Sena wing led by Uddhav Thackeray has won with a huge majority in Andheri East in Mumbai. The by-elections were held last Thursday in states like Maharashtra, Telangana, Bihar, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. With just over a year and a half left for the Lok Sabha elections, the outcome of the by-elections will be discussed in national politics as well.
