Engineering degree certificates will be issued within 7 days, exam results to be published this month, informs VC Dr Ciza Thomas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Technological university which has been causing trouble to students without publishing the exam results for six months and also by not providing degree certificates even after applying through fast track by paying Rs 3000 has finally corrected their mistake. Vice chancellor Dr Ciza Thomas has told Kerala Kaumudi that the results of all examinations including supplementary will be published this month. She also informed that degree certificates and equivalency certificates will be given to all those who applied within a week. The VC has held a discussion with the registrar and other officials following Kerala Kaumudi report on Saturday. Applications for 700-degree certificates are pending, including those who have passed engineering and those who have secured campus placements and jobs abroad. Applications for equivalency certificates were also not issued.

The university officials did not cooperate and refused to provide the files to Dr Ciza Thomas, the newly appointed temporary VC by the Governor. She was appointed following Supreme court verdict cancelling former VC Dr Rajasree’s appointment. After meeting the Governor yesterday, the vice chancellor called a meeting of top officials including the registrar via online and gave strict instructions to produce the files. Then the procedures started to make digital signature of VC.

There was a police report that the VC should not come to the university yesterday based on an intelligence report that the SFI strike would lead to conflict. That is why online meetings were held. Raj Bhavan informed that protection will be ensured to VC. The university is yet to restart the fast track application facility which ensures speedy delivery of certificates within 10 days by paying Rs 3000.
