ADELAIDE: Blistering opening partnership from Alex Hales and captain Jos Buttler powered England to an emphatic 10-wicket win over India in the second semi-final of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in Australia here on Thursday.

England will face Pakistan in the final at MCG.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India set up a target of 169 after valiant efforts from Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli. Both the batters smashed fifties in what looked like a tough wicket to bat on for other Indian players.

Chasing 169, England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales provided a sensational opening. Right from the very first over they batted with an aggressive mentality and smashed boundaries all across the park. Indians had no clue how to break the partnership of the English opening pair who mercilessly thrashed the bowlers.

England chased down the target in 16 overs, with Buttler (80*) and Hales (86*) unbeaten.
