Ordinance to remove Governor from post of Chancellor; govt yet to send it to Raj Bhavan

ss

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is yet to send the ordinance to remove the Governor from the post of Chancellor to the Raj Bhavan.
It seems that the state cabinet is delaying the action after hastily deciding in the meeting held two days ago to send the ordinance to the Governor. While Arif Mohammad Khan is scheduled to leave for North India tomorrow, the government's explanation is that some ministers are yet to sign the ordinance.

Arif Mohammad Khan had asked nine university vice-chancellors to resign as part of the intensification of the governor-government war.
The matter is currently pending before the High Court. The government initiated the move to remove the Governor from the post of the chancellor as part of its counterattack towards the Governor. As part of this, the government issued an order yesterday, removing the Governor from the post of chancellor of Kalamandalam deemed university.
