Landslide in Munnar, hits traveller carrying tourists

IDUKKI: As per reports, there were landslides at two places in Munnar. On Vattavada Road near Kundala Dam, a landslide hit the traveller carrying tourists. There were earlier reports that one person was trapped in the vehicle. As per reports, the person was rescued. But the authorities have not confirmed this.

Fire force and police have set out to the spot. Traffic was blocked on Mattupetti Road. It has been raining heavily in Munnar since this morning. Collector has banned traffic through Vattavada. Heavy rain is likely in the district in the coming hours. An orange alert has been announced.
