ADIMALI: The body of Roopesh (40) of Kallada House at Muthappan Kavu in Kozhikode has been found. The body was found in a search conducted by the fire force Sunday morning.

He went missing in a major landslip at Kundala near Munnar last evening at 3 pm. A van carrying the tourists was washed away in the landslip on Munnar-Mattupetty road. Following the landslip, transportation stalled on the Munnar-Vattavada road, was made passable by night, but no vehicles will be allowed to enter due to the travel ban.

The body has been shifted to Adimaly Taluk Hospital for post-mortem. A 11-member team including Roopesh was on their way to Munnar in a van after visiting Vattavada when the landslip blocked their way. Following that, the team tried to push the van back but a fresh wave of soil and water fell on the van, washing it away. Roopesh was trapped inside as he entered the van to retrieve his mobile.

The team consisted of natives of Kozhikode and Vadakara.
