Brawl on previous day of wedding; 30 including bride’s father injured 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A brawl was witnessed at a reception hosted in Balaramapuram. More than 30 people including the bride’s father sustained injuries. The incident happened Saturday evening at 7.30 pm. The fight broke out during the reception held on the previous day of the wedding. The injured has been admitted at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and at Neyyattinkara Taluk Hospital.

The reception was hosted at the auditorium of Balaramapuram St Sebastian’s Church. The video of the fight is being circulated on social media. The bride’s father Anil Kumar (51) sustained injuries on his head.

The fight broke out after an uninvited youth came for the reception and gave Rs 200 to the bride’s father as present. However, the family refused to accept the present and this ended in a brawl. Police arrived and dispersed both the groups. The police have intensified search for the youth identified as Abhijith.

Abhijith was earlier involved in a case for attacking the bride’s brother. So, he was not invited for the wedding.
