MUMBAI: The Air Intelligence Unit in Mumbai denied the reports that bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was stopped for carrying expensive luxury watches in the Mumbai International Airport. News agencies reported that the actor’s bodyguard Ravi Singh was stopped for not following rules.
There were news that the actor was detained at the Mumbai International Airport last night. King Khan arrived at Terminal 3 of Mumbai Airport in a private jet after attending a programme in Sharjah.
The customs had allowed the actor and his manager Pooja Dadlani to leave the airport. However, at the baggage checking point, the actor’s bodyguard had two expensive watches and four watch boxes. He was questioned following that and tax was levied on all boxes. He was allowed to leave after paying customs duty of Rs 6.83 lakh. Reports said they had six watches worth Rs 18 lakh with them.
The actor was honoured with the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award for his contribution to the film industry at the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair.
