Veteran actor and Mahesh Babu’s father Krishna passes away

HYDERABAD: Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's father and veteran actor Krishna passed away. He was 79. He breathed his last on Tuesday morning at 4 am. He was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on Monday morning after he suffered a heart attack. He was shifted to the ventilator as his health deteriorated.

Krishna was born in 1943 at Guntur of Andhra Pradesh. His real name is Chattamaneni Sivarama Krishnamurthy. He entered the world of cinema in the 1960s and has acted in more than three hundred films. He has also acted with Telugu superstars N T Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

He started a production company named Padmalaya Studios in 1970. The country had honoured him with the Padma Bhushan. Mahesh Babu's mother Indira Devi passed away in September. His brother Ramesh Babu died in January.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief on his demise. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also condoled his death.
