THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader K Muraleedharan said that KPCC president K Sudhakaran should correct his pro-RSS remarks. “Apology is not enough, he must correct himself in order to regain trust of the League”, stated Muraleedharan.
“Pro-RSS statements are inappropriate. It was a mistake to associate Nehru with that. KPCC president is the voice of the party. Expressing regret is not enough. Nehru never reconciled with the RSS. Nehru kept Shyamaprasad Mukherjee out of the mainstream since his RSS activities and the formation of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. Nehru also helped to arrest Mukherjee. Meanwhile, such a statement has caused concern to the minorities returning to the Congress. So, this statement has affected the Congress too. The party will discuss this. Sudhakaran should have been vigilant as he is the president of the party”, said Muraleedharan.
“UDF should hold discussions with the League and clear their misunderstandings and move forward strongly. The remarks made during last two weeks has affected the party. We can’t ignore the facts. Sudhakaran's remarks have damaged the respect for the Congress among the neutralists and the common people.”, he added.
