NEW DELHI: Former IAS officer and BJP leader Dr CV Ananda Bose has been appointed as West Bengal governor. The President has issued order confirming this. Bose is a native of Mannanam, Kottayam. He is assuming office as former Bengal governor Jagadeep Dhankar was elected as Vice president. Currently, Manipur governor L Ganesh was given temporary charge of Bengal.
Ananda Bose, who retired from Chief Secretary rank, was currently working as an advisor to Meghalaya government. He has worked as District Collector, Principal Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary in various ministries. Bose was also the chairman of Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple expert committee.
