Man arrested for throwing 8-year-old girl to ground in Kasargod

KASARGOD: A man was arrested for lifting an eight-year-old girl and throwing her on road while she was going home after attending Madrasa exams. Abubacker (30) of Kunchathur Udyawar, a relative of the girl has attacked her at around 8 am on Thursday morning. The girl has been admitted to Mangaluru hospital. No serious injuries have been reported.

Attempt to murder and POCSO charges have been registered against the accused and investigation has started. It is said that the accused is a drug-addict and suffers from mental illness.

The accused, who was standing on the opposite side of the road, went towards the girl, lifted her and then threw her to the ground. The girl who had fallen to the ground tried to get up, fell down again, then screamed and ran away, after picking up her book and shoes. The police intervened when the footage went viral on social media.

The girl who returned to madrasa informed this to her teacher and he informed her parents. It is reported that the accused had previously attacked children.
