Vlogger honey traps 68-year-old man pretending love, extorts lakh

MALAPPURAM: A vlogger and her husband has been arrested for honey trapping a 68-year-old man and extorting money from him. The Kalpakanchery police arrested vlogger Rashida (28) and her husband Nishad of Kunnamkulam in Thrissur.

The case against the couple is that they cheated the 68-year-old man of 23 lakh through honey trapping. Rashida maintained relations with the highly influential native of Kalpakanchery. After pretending love, invited him home at times and got close to him. Nishad made all the arrangements for it.

She started asking him money for her husband to start a business. She later grabbed money by threatening to disclose the relationship. When the old man’s family came to know that he was losing money, they enquired. With this, they understood about the honey trap and informed the police.
