Class 3 student donates savings for orphan children; Alappuzha collector appreciates boy's heartwarming gesture

kk

Alappuzha District Collector Krishna Teja is popular among Malayalis. His Facebook posts usually gathers attention. Now a video and a note shared by the collector yesterday on Facebook has gone viral. The video and the post were about Nidhin, a class 3 student who came to meet the collector with his small savings.

Collector’s Facebook post:

Yesterday, while meeting the public at the office, a boy came to me with an envelope in his hand. I opened it thinking it would be a request. But there was some money inside the envelope which surprised me. When I asked what it was, he told me that it is the money he saved for celebrating Onam and Vishu.

The class 3 student came to me with money as donation to the state government's ‘Balanidhi’ scheme to buy books, study materials and toys for underprivileged children.

Some experiences are unforgettable. This was one among that. My sincere wishes to Nidhin and his parents.
