Seven people including main accused arrested in Thalassery double murder case

THALASSERY: The police have arrested seven people, including Nettur native Suresh Babu alias Parai Babu (47), the main accused in the Thalassery double murder case. The other accused are Parakettu native Arunkumar (38), Pinarayi native EK Sandeep (38), Pinarayi native Sujith Kumar (45), Parakettu native Muhammad Farhan (21) alias Abdul Sathar, Nettur native Jackson Vincent (28) and Nettur native K Naveen (32).

A team of Commissioner Ajith Kumar, ASP Nithin Raj, Koothuparamba ACP Pradeepan, Thalassery CI M Anil and SI Shemimol arrested the accused. Parai Babu, Sujith, Arunkumar and Sandeep were arrested in front of the Iritty police station while they were returning from Karnataka. The other accused were taken into custody from Thalassery soon after the incident.

Jackson, Irfan and Naveen are accused in cases of ganja trafficking. Parai Babu stabbed CPM activists Khalid (52) and his sister's husband Shameer (40) to death on Wednesday evening after they questioned the sale of ganja in the area. Khalid's friend Shanib (29), who was stabbed, is undergoing treatment at Thalassery Cooperative Hospital.
