THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF convener EP Jayarajan extending his leave indefinitely has become a matter of discussion in the CPM. Jayarajan took leave after former state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s demise citing health issues. He has been on leave for a month and half. It is assumed that by selecting MV Govindan as state secretary and polit bureau member, Jayarajan might have felt that he is ignored although being a senior leader, which in turn is the reason for his absence. Sources close to Jayarajan say that when one person is asked to resign from the ministry and then handed over the charge of the party, then others would be considered as incompetent. Jayarajan has not responded to the issue. There are also rumours that he is likely to retire from active politics.
His absence from LDF Raj Bhavan march also raised much talks. CPM state secretary MV Govindan has said that the all rumours regarding EP Jayarajan’s absence is media interpretation.
