Protests continues in letter row; woman SI and CPO injured in clash

​​​​​​THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The protest in the letter row continues in the Municipal corporation. Mahila Morcha and UDF conducted protest march yesterday in the corporation. Two police officers were injured in the clash. Mahila Morcha workers’ march was after the BJP councillors dharna. The police stopped the march using barricade.

Meanwhile some Mahila Morcha workers entered inside corporation office under the pretense of getting marriage certificate and came near Mayor’s office. Female SI Preetha Babu stopped them, but they tried to enter into mayor’s office. The police intervened and took them outside. The mayor was not inside the office then.

SI Preetha Babu and another officer got injured in the conflict and they were taken to nearby hospital. Three party workers who were arrested has been remanded. During the Mahila Morcha march, the police used water cannons three times on the activists who tried to cross the barricade.
