DOHA: Attack on anti-hijab protesters during Qatar world cup. It is reported that the protesters were attacked by supporters of Iran government during the match between Iran and Wales. Protesters said some Iranian government supporters seized their anti-hijab flags and placards and harassed them.
Foreign media reported that security personnel at the Doha Stadium stopped fans who were wering t-shirts expressing anti-government sentiments. During the Iran-Wales match, protesters arrived at the stadium wearing jerseys with Mahsa Amini's picture. Media reported that supporters of the Iranian government hurled abuse at those wearing jerseys which said 'Women, Life and Freedom'.

Earlier, Iran football players also declared solidarity with the protest. The players protested by not singing when the national anthem of Iran was played in the stadium. Anti-hijab protests started in Iran after the death of 22-year-old woman Mahsa Amini in the police custody after she was arrested for not wearing a hijab.
