Kerala police to start patrolling to ensure safety of morning walkers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala police has decided to start patrolling during morning walk in the wake of increasing attacks in the city and to ensure safety. Women police officers will also be included in the squad. But they won’t be in police uniform. Police will also patrol the area on bikes. The department has prepared an action plan for this.

Police presence will be on the roads frequently taken by women. Pink, Shadow and Beacon police officers are taking up the mission. Special security is from 4 am to 8 am. The scheme implemented in Thiruvananthapuram city will soon be extended to the state.

The action plan was prepared by the police as three attacks were reported against women during morning walk in Thiruvananthapuram city.
