‘Covert attempts are being made to create tension in Kerala coast, Vizhinjam protesters should withdraw from strike immediately’, says EP Jayarajan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF convener EP Jayarajan has responded to the Vizhinjam clashes by anti-port protesters which led to attacking the police station. He opined that background sector development is essential for the development of the state and Vizhinjam port is important for that. He added that Vizhinjam port holds an important position in the world port map, so the Left Front has considered it as a significant project.

“Vizhinjam port is Kerala's dream project which is in the final stages of construction and some people are coming up with protests raising unacceptable slogans at this stage.”, said Jayarajan. The LDF convener has stated that covert attempts to create tension in the Kerala coast, where peaceful and friendly atmosphere exist, will not be tolerated. He demanded that the protesters should withdraw from strike immediately.
