Attack reported again in Vizhinjam; newspaper agent and KSEB lineman beaten up by protesters

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Another attack was reported as Vizhinjam strike committee members assaulted two persons in spite of heavy police protection in the area. Newspaper agent Anil Kumar and KSEB employee Dileep has been attacked. The attackers snatched the newspaper and threw them into the sea.

Anil Kumar was attacked yesterday at 5.40 am shouting that they were publishing news against the protesters. Newspapers including Kerala Kaumudi have been destroyed and they threatened to burn him alive. He filed complaint to the police.

Lineman Dileep was assaulted at 6 am yesterday when he came to resolve the electricity issue at the KSRTC depot. In the complaint lodged with the police, he said that the six-member group, which was hiding behind two boats across the road, jumped down and attacked him. The roads in Vizhinjam have been blocked by placing boats in road. Bus services from Vizhinjam were disrupted till 9 am.
