Woman dies in Chalakudy after shawl gets stuck in bike wheel 

THRISSUR: A woman died after her shawl got stuck in the wheel of a bike on which she was riding pillion. She has been identified as Rekha (46), wife of Sathyan of Melur-Koovakkattukunnu. The incident happened Sunday night at North Chalakudy. The accident happened while she was returning from the hospital with her brother after seeking treatment for headache.

She fell on the road after her shawl got stuck in the wheel of the bike. She sustained head injuries in the fall. Though she was taken to the hospital, her life could not be saved. She was a temporary employee of the grama panchayat office. Abhijith and Anjith are her children.
