Sexual assault against differently-abled woman, Congress leader arrested

THRISSUR: Congress leader has been arrested for sexually assaulting a differently-abled woman. Suresh, former member of Kunnamkulam municipality is the accused. The police said that the woman, who was under the care of her brother after her parents’ death, was molested by Suresh when she was alone at home.

Noticing a change in the woman’s behaviour, her brother’s wife enquired and it was then she revealed about the assault. It is reported that he had threatened to kill the woman if she told this to anyone. Suresh was absconding when the police registered a case. The woman has also given a confidential statement before the Kunnamkulam Magistrate.
