THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The first phase of the campaign to settle the application for land conversion ends today. It was announced earlier that the campaign will end on November 30. Still there are 11,938 paper applications to be settled. It will be settled by appointing more officials. There are many applications at Fort Kochi to be settled.
The next phase will be the settlement of online applications.
Special project to settle the applications was set up in March after a Kerala Kaumudi news about 1.5 lakh applications that were waiting to be settled. In Idukki RDO area, 100% of settlement is achieved. Ten RDO offices have achieved 99% settlement.
By the special project to convert land the government has earned Rs.198.58 crores. Since 2018, the government have received about Rs.900 crores. An earlier data said that the total number of applications received was 2,06,954. With the those applications that were sent without putting the number in Nedumagadu, Kozhikode, and Chengannur RDO offices, the total number of applications stand at 2,12,169.
Meanwhile, number of online applications are getting high. 1,70,982 applications were received out of which only 12,536 were only settled. The service of employees appointed temporarily has been extended to six more months. The rented vehicles will also be extended to six months. It is believed that the online applications will also be settled within this time.
